Make a Donation

Our ability to acquire suitable land, construct simple but well-built and attractive houses, and supply interest-free mortgages at a cost that is affordable for families depends on community support. Your donation of money, land, or materials is part of the Habitat Ring – a cycle of giving and enduring love. Make a tax-deductible donation today and join the Habitat Community!

How It Works:

  • Donations are credited to our programming fund
  • Homes are constructed with funds, in kind donations, discounted materials, and volunteer labor.
  • Determine home values at market rate, sold and subsidized by Midcoast Habitat to make affordable.
  • Homeowners pay for a monthly mortgage, taxes and insurance.
  • Mortgage payments are credited to the programs and the cycle begins again.

Consider giving from your donor-advised fund!

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is like a charitable investment account that is set up for the sole purpose of supporting charities. Individuals can contribute cash, stocks, or other assets into the DAF and receive an immediate tax deduction. Those funds are invested for tax-free growth and the individual can recommend donations to charities of their choice over time.

Donor-advised funds are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicle because they are the easiest, and most tax-savvy way to give to charities like Midcoast Habitat.
