What is Habitat Restore?

The Midcoast Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center. The items we sell are available to the public and similar to what you may see in other home good stores, such as a brand new box of tile you’ve been needing for your bathroom project or a vintage treasure you won’t find anywhere else. However, Habitat ReStores are more than just a resell store.

The purpose of the Midcoast Habitat ReStore is to contribute to the work of Midcoast Habitat for Humanity. When you support your local ReStore by shopping, donating or volunteering, you are not only supporting your local community, you’re also helping the mission to provide decent shelter to everyone around the world.

What does a Habitat for Humanity ReStore Sell?

Habitat ReStores resembles a home improvement store — a very unique home improvement store.

At the majority of ReStores you’ll find items that fit into the following categories: building materials, appliances and furniture. The items you’ll find will range from brand new to gently used, and there will likely be a wide range of brands and styles.

Of course, that’s not all you’ll find.

Because the inventory of each ReStore depends on donations, you never know exactly what you’ll find. We recommend heading our Restore today to see what’s in stock! (Of course, you may want to go back next week, too, to see what new items have arrived).

What Donations Does Midcoast Habitat ReStore Accept?

The Midcoast Habitat ReStore accepts many household items or building materials, which can include a wide variety of products. ReStore donations come from all kinds of sources — from your neighbor after a finished home project to a large restaurant chain with old furniture after remodeling.

How Do ReStores Support Habitat for Humanity?

The Midcoast Habitat ReStore helps fund Midcoast Habitat for Humanity’s mission to end substandard housing by building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Profits from Midcoast Habitat ReStore are put to use in Knox County and around the world.

How Does Midcoast Habitat ReStores Help The Environment?

When a gently used building material or household product is donated to Midcoast Habitat ReStore and then sold at a discount to a community member that needs it, that item is recycled and kept out of the landfill.

How Can I Support Midcoast Habitat Restore?

When you shop or donate to the Midcoast Habitat ReStore, you are automatically supporting your local store and the Habitat mission worldwide. Additionally, we are always looking for volunteers.

Just like the inventory of every ReStore is different, so are the volunteer needs.
