Women Build 2026
Build strength. Build community. Build homes.
Women Build brings women together from across Midcoast Maine to help build safe, permanently affordable homes for local families. This empowering event invites women of all backgrounds and skill levels to step onto the construction site, learn new skills, and make a tangible difference in our community.
You don’t need construction experience—just a willingness to try something new and be part of something meaningful.

Location: Compass Point, Rockport, Maine
Women Build 2026 will take place at Compass Point, Midcoast Habitat’s new 10-home pocket neighborhood in Rockport. This thoughtfully designed community will provide safe, energy-efficient, permanently affordable homes for families earning 30–80% of area median income.
Volunteers will work alongside Habitat staff, future homeowners, and skilled professionals to help move construction forward.
Each build day includes morning and afternoon volunteer shifts, allowing individuals or teams to choose the time that works best.
To celebrate the week’s accomplishments, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters are invited to a Women Build dance party at the end of the event.
Never picked up a hammer before? No problem.
Midcoast Habitat staff and experienced volunteers provide guidance throughout the day. Women Build is designed to be welcoming and supportive for first-time builders.
All tools, safety equipment, and training are provided.
Is there a fee to participate?
Participants are invited, but not required, to make a $25 registration donation to help cover materials, tools, and build-day expenses. Those who are interested are also welcome to take part in a simple fundraising effort, with a suggested goal of $100 in support of Women Build. Many participants choose to share their involvement with friends, family, and colleagues, turning one day on the build site into a broader impact that helps us continue building safe, permanently affordable homes in our community.
