Emily Mecklenburg had a vibrant personality and a deep sense of generosity. She served her community as a dedicated hospitalist at Pen Bay Medical Center, Maine Medical Center, and Waldo General Hospital. You could often find her joining friends and family for a picnic and afternoon sail around Rockland Harbor. She doted on her two quirky cats, who became neighborhood figures in their own right. World travel was a passion, and Emily eagerly studied new languages and cuisines on her voyages. Surfing? Oil painting? Tackling long-distance bike rides? She wanted to try it all.
